It won't be long before wintry weather threatens the Omaha area.  If poor weather conditions force the University to close for all or part of a day, your most reliable source for accurate information is the Creighton University weather hotline at 280-5800.

With so many consumers still asking for Windows XP to be loaded on Dell's consumer level PCs, the PC maker has finally decided to offer that as an option. 'Like most computer makers, Dell switched nearly entirely to Vista-based systems following Microsoft's mainstream launch of the operating system in January. However, the company said its customers have been asking for XP as part of its IdeaStorm project, which asks customers to help the company come up with product ideas. Starting immediately, Dell said, it is adding XP Home and Professional as options on four Inspiron laptop models and two Dimension desktops.' The Dell models with the Windows XP option are: Dell Inspiron 1405, 1705, 1505, and 1501; and Dell Dimension E520 and E521."

Welcome to the first day of class!  Please check back here at least every day as I update this page with class items, interesting things, and whatever else or else or else  or else or else and else comes to mind.  You can check out my interests at my main page at http://eden.creighton.edu.

Class Mailing List
Everyone needs to be a member of our class listserv, mis470@creighton.edu.  I have subscribed everyone to the list with their Creighton email account.  Please check this account - CU can guarantee delivery to this account, but cannot guarantee delivery to other ISPs, especially Hotmail.  If you want to join with another account, use this link
This list is closed and unmoderated, meaning that you cannot join without my permission.   Once you are in, you can post a message to everyone on the list.  I am not responsible should you use a free service and do not get your messages from me.

FOR CLASS TODAY: I have a meeting off-campus that I must attend at 7:00pm, so our class will be short and sweet.  You  will have an assignment for next week.

A few comments about email etiquette:  (#1 and #2)  I would add that you should always use a subject line (and for email with your faculty, put in the course number) and NEVER, never, never use text-messaging slang like "ur" for "you are."   Using text slang is inappropriate unless you are texting to that person.

You should be more like these guys!
