Midterm exam review notes
The midterm will consist of True/False, Multiple Choice, Short Answer and Matching questions.  The midterm is scheduled for Thursday, October 13th from 4:45 - 6:00pm.  Be sure to study your class notes and quizzes.  Chapters covered are 1, 2, 4, 5 and parts of 3 and 8.  We won't be finished with networking topics by the midterm exam, so some of that material will carry over into the final exam.

Final Exam Review Notes
The final will consist of True/False, Multiple Choice, Short Answer and Matching questions.  The final is scheduled for Tuesday, December 13th from 4:45 - 6:00pm.  Be sure to study your class notes and quizzes.  Chapters covered are 6, 8, 10,11, 14.  

There will be some discussion of computer hardware that carries over from the midterm.  Be sure to know the various network topics we discussed (see below) as well as the Systems Development Life Cycle and implementation strategies.

Network Topics to Know:

• The four different types of network topologies

• How to interpret the results of an ipconfig /all command

• What a server and a client are

• What firewalls, proxy servers, DNS servers, WINS servers, packet shapers are

• What a router, switch, hub, access point, VPN are

• Different types of network media (wired, wireless)
